Disabled & vulnerable

Nurse / Call Systems

Nurse and warden call systems are used extensively in nursing homes and sheltered accommodation to ensure help can be alerted when necessary.

All systems are designed and installed using either Hard Wired / VOIP or Wire Free solutions dependent on the environment & architecture of the building.

We understand that the need to establish the suitability of the particular technology for a given application is critical. Adept ensures the systems achieve accurate, fast and reliable on-site communications helping to save staff time. They minimise any disturbance and help with improvement of patient care and support the ever increasing demands on the front line staff and support services.

Features Include:

  • Calls status and priority to show all relevant displays and indicate priority
  • Urgent raised level alarm tone
  • Multiple call levels, different day/night call routing arrangements, manual and automatic call divert and free built-in data logging, are all included in one of our most advanced call systems.
  • Built-in data logging, simple system re-programming and full monitoring of all network devices.
  • Calls can be made from a variety of devices including tail call leads, ceiling pulls and pressure pads to suit different levels of dexterity. Once triggered calls are reset at the room from which they were made via a button or magnetic reset key.
  • A confidence light on the bed head reassures patients calls are registered; for those who are prone to wander, door monitoring points and portable movement detectors can be used to provide added protection.
  • Backlit displays show the precise location of all relevant incoming calls and indicate their presence via a gentle unobtrusive alarm tone.
  • The calls are prioritised to show on all relevant displays.

Disabled toilet alarms

British Standards require all new disabled toilets to be fitted with an emergency toilet alarm to allow an alarm to be raised in the event of an emergency.

Our system provides a compliant, reliable and easy to use disabled persons toilet alarm.

The disabled toilet alarm kit can be fitted as a component of the OmniCare EVC system or as a completely independent, stand-alone kit. Disabled toilet alarm units are connected to the VIGIL OmniCare system via a BVFREPEM repeater unit.

  • Any number of disabled toilet alarms can be wired to each repeater (will show as one call point on master panel)
  • Fully conforms to BS8300:2009 requirements
  • Integral power supply - requires mains power
  • Monitored battery backup
  • Powerful LEDs and sounder
  • Two alarm modes (flashing or steady LEDs)
  • Up to three ring pulls can be fitted per 'station'
  • Repeater units (BVFREPEM) are used to connect the toilet alarms to the OmniCare system
  • Stainless steel kit available

Induction loops

Induction Loop Systems are used to help hearing impaired people obtain maximum involvement in communications.

The concept behind them is simple. All NHS hearing aids have a ‘T’ position which allows them to pick up the electromagnetic field generated by a telephone’s earpiece and convert it into a sound suited to an individual’s specific hearing requirements.

A loop system uses this same principle but generates a much larger field than that created by a telephone earpiece and radiates it around a room via a ‘loop’ for the benefit of any hearing impaired person(s) located within it.

An induction loop system therefore comprises four main elements:- the audio source (microphone and/or music inputs), the amplifier (specially designed for the job), the loop(usually a single turn of wire) and the receiver(s) (hearing aids in the ‘T’ position of specially made listening devices).

British Standard Code of Practice

Loop systems should be installed to the British Standard Code of Practice for Audio Frequency Induction Loop Systems BS 7594.

All work is to this standard, and this will mean that your induction loop system is designed and installed to professional standards, works properly, and meets regulations. The loop itself should also conform to BS EN 60118-4:2006

Lone working systems

Health & Safety is paramount on the corporate agenda as employers have a 'Duty of Care' to their employees.

Units will help keep vulnerable employees safer with live tracking every 10 seconds, alerts triggered for entering and leaving Geo fencing and capability to store up to 3 pre-programmed phone numbers for quick and effective communication, be it to a monitoring station, another department or simply a friend or family member.

Typical uses include family, workers, lone workers, children, people at risk.
